Look through the book's table of contents of chapters 22-32, our topics for the E&M course;
Finally, read chapter 22 as an intro to electricity; Think about what charge really is?
|
Look over chapter 22 with your groups, discussing any confusions and your experiences with charge from previous courses.
Then, start reading chapter 27, which lays foundation for studying current and circuits;
Useful tip: learn E = (ro)J as the local (microscopic) version of V = IR, which describes the overall macro behavior in a circuit element.

Finish Reading Ch. 27 (all)
A57: Ch. 27 13-17, 20, 21
|
Discuss Chapter 27 in groups, focusing on the following questions:
* what is the difference between resistivity and resistance?
* does copper have a resistance or resistivity?
* what is the difference/relationship between resistivity and conductivity?
Next, you may go over homework; if everyone in your group understands, you may go on with the next HW.
