M 1

Clarification of expectations;

Pass out AP8 solutions and returned AP9s;

Final comments/questions about circuits

Course overview

What is charge?  What is going on with the cup and can experiment.

Tu 2

 Organize binders and study;  Start on work for wednesday.

Final Circuits Test, including chapter 27, 28, solving circuits and RC.

Binders will be collected for HW check, A52-64

W 3

  • Look over AP E&M topics
  • Read “Electric Charge” entry on Wikipedia
  • Read Ch. 22 carefully
  • A65 Ch. 22 Q 3,4,5,9,11  P 1,3,5,7
  • Come ready to dive in!

Th 4

 A66 Ch. 22 P 6,8,9,11,17, 18, 19, 23;

Visit and play PhET's Electric field hockey and answer these questions on your A66 HW

  •  How do you calculate the net force vector at any instant?
  •  How does the mass affect the puck’s motion?
  •  Now turn on the “Field” option.  Explain how this helps visualize what you are doing and predict the object’s motion.  Does the particle follow the arrows at all times?
  •  What is electric field?  Does it exist at locations where there are no charges?
  • Do you need the electric field to determine what the puck will do?  Argue yes or no.
