- BLS Science News: This is a place the BLS science teachers post special opportunities for students, including special courses, programs, summer internships, etc.
- NuTrons Robotics Club: Run by Northeastern, BLS has been involved in this program for over 10 years. You can learn all about robots and engineering and teamwork, no experience necessary. See Mr. Southwick or Ms. Bateman for more information.
- Harvard Medical School's Science In the News Seminar Series: Great lectures talking about real current science and current research being done in our neighborhood. Mostly wednesdays at 7pm, but check out the schedule on the link.
- Young Scholars Program: A great summer program at Northeastern University where you work in a real science lab for a summer.
- TechBoston Apprentice Programs: TechBoston is a great organization who is always looking for computer-savvy students to join them to be trained, to give training, and to provide tech help, sometimes for money. Check out the website or email eesteves@techboston.org.
- BLS YouthCAN: students changing the school and changing the world! So many initiatives, so much energy -- get involved!
Physics Links- Powers of 10 Interactive: Check out the impressive scale of the universe!
- CERN: The European Organization of Nuclear Research houses the world's largest machine and most powerful particle accelerator, the Large Hadron Collider. It represents the cutting edge of physics, a long way from Galileo but basic, fundamental physics nonetheless. I spent the summer of 1999 here.
- Particle Adventure: This might be a good way to start if you want to know about modern particle physics.
- Hubble Telescope: Astronomy is fascinating, and the Hubble Telescope is a pretty good place to learn about it. Great images.
